Import a client and connect

Get your subscription from the dashboard, import it on your device, then confirm the connection by visiting a website.

Create an account and sign in

Select “Start Free” below to open the VPNHope user dashboard, then enter a username and password on the account creation screen. No email address is required; you’ll use your username and password to sign in. Choose a username that’s easy to recognize and enter accurately. Use a password manager to generate and save a unique password rather than reusing one from another site. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue to the dashboard. If you’re returned to the sign-in screen, use the details you just saved.

Once you’re in, open the account overview and check that you’re signed in to the account you intend to use. Not having a plan yet, or not being able to use a subscription yet, doesn’t mean account creation failed. Your account, plan, and client each serve a different purpose: the account lets you sign in and manage your service, the plan determines your available data and usage rules, and the client connects your device. Check your plan first, then import your subscription.

Before leaving this page, save the dashboard address and your sign-in details. Use the same account on other devices; there’s no need to create a separate account for each one. VPNHope supports unlimited simultaneous devices, but you’ll need to install and configure the client on each device. When you finish using a public or borrowed device, sign out of the dashboard and remove any subscription configuration saved on it.

Choose a plan and make sure it’s active

Before opening the plans section in the dashboard, check the billing details on the plans and pricing page. Monthly plans suit ongoing use: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date, not at the start of the calendar month. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days. Choose a tier based on your usual needs; there’s no need to select a larger data allowance just to follow this guide.

If your usage varies, you can also choose a data package: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB. Data remains available until it’s used and never expires. The key difference is how data is consumed, not just the price: monthly plans reset each month, while packages draw down from a total balance. Both options support unlimited devices, but that doesn’t mean unlimited data; check your usage in the dashboard.

Open the plans section, choose a tier, and check the plan name, price, and billing method on the order before paying as instructed. Supported payment methods are Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Follow the instructions on the order page. After payment, return to the account overview and check that your plan details have updated. If the payment page shows completion but the overview hasn’t updated, refresh and check the order status first. Don’t pay again just to make the page update.

VPNHope offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. Check the terms in the Terms of Service. If the order status doesn’t match your payment record, keep your order details and contact support through a dashboard ticket. Continue to the subscription step only after the overview confirms that your plan is active. This helps distinguish order issues from client connection problems.

Get your subscription link from the dashboard

Open your account overview and find the section for subscriptions or client imports. The subscription link lets your client retrieve server configurations; it isn’t a regular website address and shouldn’t be opened in a browser. Use the dashboard’s copy option to transfer the link to the client you’re about to install. If the dashboard offers an import button for your client, you can use it after installation.

Subscription links usually contain account-related access credentials, so protect them like passwords. Don’t post them in public groups or documents, and don’t share screenshots showing the full link. When asking for help with an import, it’s usually more useful to provide the client name, operating system, and error message. If you share a screenshot, hide the subscription link and any other sensitive account information first.

After copying the link, leave the dashboard open while you install the client so you can return and copy it again if the import fails. When copying manually, make sure you don’t miss the beginning or end of the link or include extra spaces or line breaks. If the client treats it as plain text instead of a subscription address, copy it again using the dashboard’s copy option and check that you chose an option such as “Add from link.” Don’t edit the link parameters manually.

A subscription retrieves and updates server configurations; getting one doesn’t automatically connect your device. After importing it, choose a server in the client and connect. Refresh the subscription in the client if the server list changes or the client says the configuration needs updating. For more on what subscription links do and how to protect them, see Subscription Links: A Beginner’s Guide.

Install and import on your platform

Get the client from the dashboard after signing in. You can download the Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux clients after signing in. The iOS download link is available when the account meets the active-plan requirements. You’ll also need to sign in to get your subscription; this page doesn’t provide installers or subscription links. Use the VPNHope client and instructions provided for your system in the dashboard. Don’t assume that button names in guides for other clients will match your screen.

Complete the import steps below only on the device you plan to use. If the dashboard offers automatic import, your system will usually ask whether to open the client. Check that it’s the right app before allowing it. If automatic switching doesn’t work, there’s no need to keep clicking. Instead, open the client’s subscription or configuration manager, choose an option such as “Add from link,” paste the address you copied, and save it.

Windows: Install the desktop client

In the dashboard’s download section, select the VPNHope desktop client for Windows, follow the on-screen instructions to install it, and open the app. Find “Subscription,” “Configuration Manager,” or a similar section, choose the option to add a subscription, and paste the link copied from the dashboard. If you’re asked to name it, use a label that’s easy for you to recognize. It’s just a local label—you don’t need to enter a password.

After saving, refresh the subscription and check that selectable servers appear—not just a new configuration name. Then enable the imported configuration and open the server list. If your system displays a network permission prompt while connecting, check the app’s source and what it’s requesting, then follow the client’s instructions. Keep the client open after importing, then complete the connection check below.

macOS: Import a configuration and allow network settings

Get the VPNHope desktop client for macOS from the dashboard, then install and open it as instructed. Go to the configuration or subscription section and choose the option to import from a link. If your system asks whether the client can handle the import request, check the app name before continuing. After importing, refresh the subscription, check that the server list has loaded, and set this configuration as the one to use.

When you connect, macOS may ask you to confirm network settings or permissions. Follow the system and client prompts. Don’t disable unrelated system protections just to complete the import. If the client window is closed but its status icon remains in the menu bar, reopen it from there and check the connection status. Don’t rely on whether the main window is visible to tell if the connection is running.

Android: Add a subscription and approve the connection request

Sign in to the dashboard and download the VPNHope client for Android from the download section. Install it as prompted by your system. Open the client, find the subscription or configuration section, choose “Add from link,” paste the subscription address from the dashboard, and save it. If you start an automatic import from your browser, make sure it opens the client you intend to use, not another app that can handle the same link.

Refresh the subscription and choose a server before tapping Connect. Android may show a system authorization prompt to establish a VPN connection; check the app and allow the request. Approval doesn’t mean the connection has succeeded, so return to the client and check its status. If the connection often drops when you switch to another app, check whether your system restricts the client’s background activity and adjust the battery and background settings on your device. Menu paths vary by model, so there’s no need to follow instructions for another device.

iOS: Get the client from the dashboard

First, confirm in the account overview that your plan is active. Then open the dashboard’s download section and check the current iOS download option. Follow the instructions to get the client from the App Store. If your account doesn’t meet the active-plan requirements, return to the plans and orders sections to check its status; don’t look for alternative download links outside this page. Once downloaded, open the client and return to the dashboard to use the matching import option.

You can also add the link manually in the client’s subscription or configuration section, then save it and refresh the server list. When you connect, iOS may ask to add a VPN configuration; confirm as prompted. If no servers appear after returning from the dashboard, first check that the configuration was saved and selected, then refresh the subscription. Importing and connecting are separate steps: after the configuration appears, you still need to connect manually.

Get the client

Connect to a server and verify it works

After importing, choose a location that suits what you need to do, then connect. You can start with a location actually listed in the dashboard, such as Singapore, Hong Kong, the United States, Japan, or Switzerland. There’s no need to compare every server at first. VPNHope covers 120+ countries / 250+ servers, but the options available to you depend on your account dashboard and current subscription list. A nearby location isn’t necessarily the best route for your network.

Once the client shows that you’re connected, visit a website or app you normally use and try something real—for example, refresh a page, open a tool, or load a video. The client status reflects only part of the connection process; you’ll need to test the service you want to use. If your configuration uses rule-based routing, some local services may still use your regular network. That doesn’t necessarily mean the connection isn’t working.

Keep other settings unchanged while testing. If a page won’t load, disconnect the client first and check that your device can access familiar sites on its regular network. Once your local network is working, check the active configuration, subscription update status, and selected server in the client. Try another server and reopen the page. Avoid changing the location, configuration, and app settings all at once, so you can tell which change helped.

If only one website or app has a problem while everything else works, focus on that service and the server you’re using. The platform may have its own account, location, or content licensing rules. A successful client connection doesn’t guarantee that every service will work the same way. For AI tools and streaming, see the AI guide and Streaming access guide. Don’t judge your entire subscription based on one page.

For everyday use, keep familiar configurations and server choices in the client. When switching devices, import the subscription from the dashboard again; don’t share the link publicly. If you’ve shared it with someone who shouldn’t have access, check whether the dashboard offers a reset option. If you can’t find one, ask support through a ticket. After getting or resetting the subscription, update the configuration on your other devices too.

If the issue persists, submit a support ticket from the user dashboard. Include your operating system, client, selected location, the step where the error occurred, and the exact error message. You can attach screenshots with sensitive details hidden, but don’t include your password or full subscription link. For server principles and more in-depth troubleshooting, see Protocol deep dives. This guide is here to help you complete the essentials: account, subscription, client, and a real-world connection check.
